ISLAMABAD: The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, School of Dentistry, Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), Islamabad, successfully conducted a one-day live maxillofacial surgery workshop aimed at strengthening clinical skills and surgical confidence among dental trainees and young surgeons.

The workshop was organized under the supervision of the Head of Department and Consultant, Dr. Ahsan Ullah, who emphasized the importance of structured hands-on training in advancing postgraduate dental education and improving patient care outcomes.

The academic and surgical sessions were led by two distinguished key facilitators. Col (R) Prof. Dr. Ehtesham Ul Haq, a renowned plastic and craniofacial surgeon, and Brig (R) Prof. Dr. Nazeer Ahmed, a renowned maxillofacial and reconstructive surgeon, guided participants through live surgical demonstrations and case-based discussions. Their expert supervision provided participants with real-time learning opportunities and direct exposure to advanced operative techniques.

Live surgical procedures formed the core of the workshop, allowing trainees to observe critical steps of maxillofacial interventions while engaging in interactive discussions on case selection, surgical planning, and intraoperative decision-making.
