LCMD hosts pre-conference workshop on simulation-based education for health professions educators

KARACHI: The Liaquat College of Medicine and Dentistry (LCMD) is set to host the pre-conference inaugural workshop for the 2026 CPSP International Medical Education Conference (IMECon-26). The workshop, which will take place on January 10th, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at LCMD's Conference Room, is poised to bring together healthcare educators, faculty members, and students for an in-depth exploration of simulation-based education (SBE).

The workshop, titled “Simulation-Based Education for Health Professions Educators,” will focus on the role of simulation in enhancing the quality of medical and dental education. It will cover topics like the fidelity and types of simulation, key components for effective simulation, and how to integrate clinical scenarios into educational practice.

The workshop will be organized by Prof. Dr. Navid Rashid Qureshi, Principal and Professor of Dentistry at LCMD and PDA President, Karachi Chapter. He will be joined by Prof. Dr. Tahera Ayub, a distinguished professor and Head of Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery, and Dr. Naheed Najmi, Vice Principal of LCMD. Dr. Sabaa Shahid, Incharge of DHPE-COD, will also lend her expertise to the event as a co-facilitator.
