KARACHI: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has recently called on the government to grant the PMDC complete autonomy, making it a democratic independent body so that it may objectively maintain focus on improving the quality of medical and dental education in the country.
A meeting was held recently at the PMA house, this meeting discussed issues related to the re-establishment of the PMDC.
Members were of the opinion that the government should stop pulling the strings on matters of the regulatory body. The institution shall govern with a democratic spirit and all council members and stakeholders shall maintain equal representation in the body on matters pertaining to medical and dental education in Pakistan.
