Day 2 of PDA–DTMA mega dental event opens with jam-packed science and expectations of peak exhibition activity
LAHORE: The second day of Pakistan’s largest integrated dental gathering — the 8th DTMA Dental Exhibition, held alongside the 14th International and 34th National Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) Dental Conference — is set to witness peak momentum on Saturday, as a fully packed scientific program coincides with the first full weekend of exhibition activity at the Expo Center Lahore.
Following a strong opening day, organizers and exhibitors are anticipating bumper footfall on Day 2, traditionally the busiest day of the three-day event, with dental professionals, students, families and trade visitors arriving from across Punjab and other parts of the country.
The mega event is jointly organized by the Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) and the Dental Trade & Manufacturers Association Pakistan (DTMA).
Day 2 scientific program: General dentistry at the core
Saturday’s scientific agenda reflects the conference theme “Shaping the Future of Dentistry: Resilience, Renewal, and Responsibility”, with general dentistry firmly at the center of proceedings.
In Hall A, the day is structured around a series of General Dentistry sessions, covering foundational and advanced clinical topics relevant to everyday practice. Sessions include comprehensive discussions on endodontics for general practitioners, management of separated files, controversies in endodontics, and updated approaches to bonded restorations and contemporary dental ceramics.
Later sessions explore pediatric dentistry, interceptive orthodontics, implant dentistry, and facial aesthetics, including Botox in dentistry, smile design, and the transition from smile to facial design — offering delegates a broad, practice-oriented learning experience from morning to evening.
Specialty tracks run in parallel
In Hall B, specialty-focused sessions are running concurrently, offering in-depth learning across multiple disciplines.
The Orthodontics (PAO) track addresses modern biomechanics, digitization, aligner therapy challenges, sleep apnea considerations, and retention strategies. The Pedodontics (PAPD) sessions focus on cleft palate care, behavior management, pulp therapy, and early childhood dental impact.
The afternoon program features Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (PAOMS) sessions, covering dental management of cardiac patients, early diagnosis of malignant lesions, and dentofacial deformity management, followed by a multidisciplinary panel discussion. Prosthodontics (PPA) sessions and panel discussions later in the day round off a comprehensive specialty offering.
Conference organizers describe Saturday’s schedule as one of the most intensive and diverse days of the entire conference.
DTMA exhibition: Weekend crowds expected to drive peak activity
Running alongside the conference, Day 2 of the DTMA Dental Exhibition is expected to be the busiest trade day, benefiting from weekend availability and strong interest generated on Friday.
The exhibition floor features a wide range of dental equipment, materials, digital dentistry solutions, implants, laboratory technologies, infection control systems and practice management tools, with exhibitors prepared for extended engagement with visitors.
DTMA President Ashraf Ali Ghauri said Saturday traditionally defines the commercial success of the expo.
“Friday gave us a very strong start, but Saturday is where the full scale of the market becomes visible. With the conference and exhibition running side by side, we expect exceptional footfall and serious business engagement today,” he told Dental News Pakistan.
Integrated platform in full flow
Observers note that the integration of scientific sessions and trade exhibition, formalized through the PDA–DTMA MoU, is most evident on Day 2, as delegates move seamlessly between lecture halls and exhibition aisles.
This structure allows practitioners to immediately relate clinical learning to available technologies and materials, while exhibitors benefit from interaction with an informed and motivated professional audience.
Looking ahead
With a packed Saturday underway, the PDA–DTMA joint event will move into its final day on Sunday, featuring concluding scientific sessions, panel discussions, and closing exhibition activity.
As the weekend crowds gather at Expo Center Lahore, Day 2 is expected to set new benchmarks for both academic engagement and trade participation at Pakistan’s premier dental event.
