Altamash dental student Jaint Kumar wins 2nd place for research on oral health and caregiving in IDD
KARACHI: aint Kumar, a final-year dental student at the Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine, has made a significant mark by securing 2nd place in the Physical Research Poster Competition at Dental Innovate 2.0, held at Expo Center, Karachi. The event featured over 80 research posters from across the country, highlighting groundbreaking contributions to dentistry and oral health.
The award-winning research, titled “Smile Guardians: Oral Health Knowledge, Attitudes, and Practices of Caregivers among Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Karachi, Pakistan,” sheds light on the often-overlooked relationship between oral health and caregiving practices for individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
