Registrations have opened for DentaCon 2026, a dental education and competition event being organised by The DentEd Collective for dental students and early-career dentists, with the programme scheduled for October 10, 2026, at Mumtaz Mirza Auditorium, Hyderabad.
The event will combine competitions with educational and professional-development activities, including pre-DentaCon webinars, keynote talks and networking opportunities, while participants will also compete for cash prizes across a series of challenges focused on research, communication and creative presentation.

The competition programme includes Cavity Cut, a reel-based contest designed around dental communication; 100 Seconds – The Research Idea Competition, in which participants will be required to present a research concept within a limited time; and In Sight – The Research E-Poster Challenge, which will provide participants with an opportunity to present research through an electronic poster format.
The three competition formats are intended to give participants different ways to demonstrate their skills, from communicating dental concepts through short-form digital content to developing research ideas and presenting scientific work.
The programme has been designed to create a platform where dental students and fresh graduates can compete, learn and interact with others in the profession. The addition of webinars and keynote sessions is expected to broaden the event beyond the competitions and provide participants with opportunities for academic and professional engagement.
The registration fee has been set at Rs1,500, with registrations currently open. Organisers have also advised prospective participants to review the individual competition guidelines before submitting entries, as each category follows a separate format and set of requirements.
With participation being offered on a limited-seat basis, students and young dentists interested in attending or entering the competitions have been encouraged to register ahead of the event.
DentaCon 2026 comes at a time when skills such as research communication, scientific presentation and digital engagement are becoming increasingly relevant for young dental professionals alongside conventional clinical training. By bringing these elements together under a single programme, the event aims to provide participants with a broader platform to present their work, test their ideas and connect with the dental community.
