PADS dental camp in Skardu delivers vital oral health services and awareness to underserved communities

SKARDU, GILGIT BALTISTAN: In a commendable display of student-led healthcare service, the Pakistan Association Of Dental Students (PADS) organized a free dental camp in Shigar, Skardu, providing much-needed oral health screenings and hygiene education to more than 600 individuals in the remote region of Gilgit-Baltistan. The initiative is part of PADS’ national outreach program aimed at promoting preventive oral health and improving access to dental care in Pakistan’s underserved areas.

The camp was held at Government High School, Shigar, and successfully delivered free checkups, oral hygiene education, and awareness sessions to children, parents, and elderly residents—many of whom rarely have access to dental professionals.

This community health outreach demonstrates PADS' core values of service, leadership, and education, while offering young dental professionals a transformative opportunity to gain real-world experience in resource-limited environments. Through this initiative, PADS continues to uphold its reputation as a trusted and credible national body advancing oral healthcare equity across Pakistan.
