KARACHI: A hands-on dental surveying workshop was successfully organized recently by the Department of Prosthodontics at Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM), in collaboration with the Pakistan Association of Dental Students (PADS). Held at AIDM’s Defence Campus, the workshop brought together over 87 enthusiastic participants, including undergraduate dental students and postgraduate residents from various dental colleges across Karachi.

The interactive training focused on enhancing both theoretical and practical knowledge of dental surveying—an integral skill in removable prosthodontics. This foundational discipline is essential for planning and designing removable dental prostheses and remains a core competency in dental education.

Led under the expert supervision of Prof. Dr. Naseer Ahmed, Head of the Department of Prosthodontics at AIDM and the activity director for the event, the workshop provided participants with hands-on experience and clinical relevance.

AIDM and PADS expressed sincere appreciation to the team of dedicated facilitators: Dr. Shujah Adil Khan, Dr. Tooba Shabbir, Dr. Wajiha Zia, Dr. Aiman Yaseen, and Dr. Huda Adil, whose expert guidance ensured a productive and enriching experience for the attendees.

The organizers also acknowledged the commendable efforts of final year students Sonia and Shameem Ashraf, whose behind-the-scenes contributions helped ensure the event’s smooth execution.
