HYDERABAD: In an effort to improve healthcare accessibility and promote preventive medical and dental awareness among underserved communities, The DentEd Collective, in collaboration with MedConnect Society, organized a free medical and dental camp titled “Azm-E-Shifa” (Commitment to healing) for labourers and families residing in the Fateh Chowk Site Area of Hyderabad, where a large number of workers and community members received free medical consultations, dental examinations, oral hygiene counselling, preventive healthcare guidance and patient education services.

Healthcare professionals and student volunteers participating in the activity emphasized the importance of expanding community-based healthcare outreach programs in industrial and labour-dominated areas where access to routine medical and dental care often remains limited.

Organizers said the initiative aimed not only to provide immediate healthcare assistance but also to strengthen awareness regarding oral hygiene, preventive healthcare practices and early disease detection among underserved populations.

The DentEd Collective team was led by President Alssa Uqaily and Vice President Sanaullah Soomro under the leadership of Founder Muhammad Bilal. The activity was further supervised and coordinated by General Secretary Ghazala Eidan and Joint Secretary Ujala Khan.

The organizers expressed gratitude to Prof. Dr. Sana Mirza for her continued mentorship, guidance and encouragement in promoting community healthcare initiatives and student-led welfare activities.

Special acknowledgment was also given to Dr. Ram Pershad, Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, who remained actively involved throughout the camp by examining patients, providing clinical consultations, diagnosing oral health conditions and counselling attendees regarding treatment and preventive care.
