HYDERABAD: Imagine over 1,000 school children discovering dental secrets that could literally save millions of lives. That is exactly what happened at the “Smile Saviours Dental Camp”, organized by The DentEd Collective at Government Naval Rai Hiranand High School, Gol Building Campus.

This was not just an ordinary dental camp. The initiative focused on preventive oral healthcare, early detection of dental issues, and practical demonstrations of proper toothbrushing techniques, giving children skills and knowledge that could protect their teeth—and their health—for life.

Dental teams conducted comprehensive screenings for more than 400 students and delivered engaging oral health education sessions to over 1,000 children, emphasizing the power of small, everyday habits to prevent major dental problems.

The camp was carried out under the mentorship of Dr. Sana Mirza, with continued guidance from Dr. Jazib Memon and Dr. Ram Pershad. Generous sponsorship from Colgate enabled the distribution of oral hygiene resources and reinforced the preventive care messages delivered during the sessions.

Collaboration with the Government Secondary Teachers Association (GUSTA) District Hyderabad played a crucial role in making the camp a success. On the occasion, GUSTA District Hyderabad President Abdul Qayyum Sheikh and City President Naeem Qadri distributed certificates to participants and volunteers, recognizing their dedication to community health.

The organizing team also expressed gratitude to Senior Chief Headmaster Sarwar Ali Babar, Assistant Allah Bux Brohi, and the teaching staff for their support in creating a meaningful and impactful event.

The success of the Smile Saviours Dental Camp was driven by The DentEd Collective’s leadership team—President Alssa Uqaily, Vice President Sanaullah Soomro, General Secretary Ghazala Eidan, Joint Secretary Ujala Khan, and Executive Member Muhammad Bilal. Key operational support was provided by Director PR Haris Aziz, Director Logistics Kumail Ali, and Director Visual and Graphic Designing Mahnoor Umrani, while Isra University Campus Head Syed Kazim Raza Shah ensured smooth on-ground execution.

This initiative highlights The DentEd Collective’s commitment to community service, preventive dentistry, and student-led professional development. By bridging the gap between academic institutions and public health outreach, the camp demonstrates how knowledge, mentorship, and preventive care can create a healthier generation of Pakistanis.
