KARACHI: In a major initiative focused on faculty development and academic mentorship, Sohail University and Jinnah Medical & Dental College (JMDC) organized an interactive growth mindset workshop aimed at strengthening reflective learning, mentoring effectiveness, and professional leadership within higher education institutions.
The workshop, titled “Mirror and Map of Professional Journey – Reflection and Growth Mindset,” was held at the Mumtazuddin Haider Auditorium, Sohail University Korangi Campus, under the supervision of the Mentorship Program Committee (MPC) in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan and the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE).
The session brought together senior faculty members, emerging mentors, and academic professionals for a hands-on learning experience centered on mentorship effectiveness, self-reflection, and professional growth within academic institutions.
The workshop was facilitated by Prof. Dr. Marium Iqbal, who led participants through interactive reflective mentoring exercises designed to help educators better understand their professional journeys, leadership approaches, and mentoring responsibilities.
Participants engaged in dynamic discussions on personal growth, mentoring challenges, faculty development, and the importance of cultivating a growth mindset in academic environments. According to attendees, the workshop created a collaborative atmosphere where experienced faculty members openly shared real-world professional experiences while younger mentors contributed innovative perspectives and fresh ideas.
The session also included interactive activities, educational video presentations, and collaborative learning exercises aimed at strengthening mentoring capacity and improving communication and leadership skills among educators.
