PADS provides free dental checkups and relief to flood victims in Jhok Wains
JHOK WAINS, MULTAN: In response to the devastating floods affecting country, the Pakistan Association Of Dental Students (PADS) has stepped up to support the affected community of Jhok Wains, Multan, by delivering free dental checkups and essential oral health care.
The initiative was spearheaded by Ahmad Haseeb (Vice President Media, PADS), alongside dedicated team members Anas Ur Rehman, Roshaan Mazhar, and Asfand Yar from Multan Medical And Dental College (MMDC). Their mission was clear — to offer immediate medical assistance while addressing the often-overlooked oral health concerns of flood victims.

“Oral health is a key part of overall well-being, yet it is frequently neglected in disaster-hit areas,” said Ahmad Haseeb. “Our goal was to ensure that the affected population not only receives relief but also preventive care to avoid long-term complications.”
Extending care beyond relief
PADS collaborated with Nekter Pakistan and the Patient Support Alliance to maximize their outreach and impact. Together, they distributed basic oral care supplies, raised awareness on oral hygiene, and provided professional consultations free of cost.
The team’s intervention focused on:
- Immediate dental checkups to detect infections and prevent worsening of untreated oral issues
- Oral hygiene education to promote sustainable habits among flood victims
- Community support through collaboration with trusted local partners

Humanitarian efforts in action
The floods in South Punjab displaced thousands, causing widespread damage to homes, crops, and livelihoods. With health risks rising in temporary shelters, PADS’ effort served as a vital intervention in safeguarding both the physical and mental well-being of those impacted.
This initiative reflects PADS’ commitment to serving communities in times of crisis and underscores the importance of including oral health in disaster response strategies.
