ISLAMABAD: As Pakistan officially marked the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos on May 10, the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) paid tribute to the armed forces, healthcare professionals, rescue teams, martyrs, and national leadership for their role during one of the country’s most defining periods of national unity and resilience.

In a statement issued from Islamabad, PMDC described Marka-e-Haq as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, patriotism, and collective national determination, while acknowledging the sacrifices made by security personnel and frontline healthcare workers during the critical period.

The council’s tribute came as government institutions, public organizations, and national bodies across Pakistan observed commemorative events to honor the armed forces and reaffirm solidarity with the country’s national defense and public service sectors.

The Government of Pakistan is officially observing the anniversary of Marka-e-Haq and Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos to commemorate a historic demonstration of national unity, military professionalism, and coordinated institutional response during a challenging national security period.

PMDC honors armed forces and healthcare professionals

According to the statement, PMDC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj praised the professional excellence and operational capabilities demonstrated by Pakistan’s armed forces during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.

He stated that under the leadership of   Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces FIELD MARSHAL SYED ASIM MUNIR, NI (M), HJ, the armed forces successfully defended the sovereignty, dignity, and integrity of the country.

“Marka-e-Haq will always be remembered as a symbol of national unity and resilience,” he said.

The council also paid Kharaj-e-Tahseen to Pak Army healthcare professionals, rescue workers, and medical teams who remained committed to serving the nation throughout the difficult period.

PMDC noted that doctors, healthcare workers, and emergency responders once again demonstrated exceptional courage, compassion, and dedication during national challenges and humanitarian situations.

Medical fraternity stands with the nation

The council emphasized that Pakistan’s medical fraternity has historically remained at the forefront during emergencies, disasters, humanitarian crises, and national challenges.

According to Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj, the spirit of selfless service shown by healthcare professionals reflects the highest values of the medical profession and strengthens the country’s collective sense of unity and responsibility.

He added that the entire nation remains proud of its martyrs and ghazis whose sacrifices continue to safeguard the country’s freedom and stability.

The PMDC statement further highlighted that during Marka-e-Haq, the people of Pakistan stood united “like a solid wall,” reflecting the spirit of national cohesion and patriotism.
