KARACHI: The Department of Operative Dentistry at Bahria University Dental College (BUDC), Bahria University Health Sciences Campus Karachi (BUHSCK), organized an engaging e-poster competition for third-year BDS students in September 2025. The event showcased the increasing integration of digital tools in dental education and encouraged students to present clinical and theoretical content through visually compelling digital formats.

E-posters have become a significant feature of modern academic communication, allowing participants to blend research, design, and technology into interactive learning experiences. The competition provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate both their clinical understanding and their ability to communicate complex dental concepts effectively.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Umeed Javaid and Dr. Imtiaz ul Haq, under the supervision of Dr. Shama Asghar, head of the Department of Operative Dentistry. Dr. Ayesha Zafar, assistant professor, served as the judge and evaluated the presentations based on content relevance, visual clarity, and overall impact.

Participants were assigned clinically oriented topics including:

  • Class III and Class IV restorations
  • Prescription writing
  • Pulpal and periapical diagnosis
  • Pulp capping
  • Matrix band systems

The students displayed remarkable creativity and clinical insight while presenting their posters to faculty and peers. After a close round of evaluations, the team of Muhammad Ahmed and Malik Zubair was declared the winner of the competition.

The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, recognizing the winners and acknowledging all participants for their enthusiasm and dedication. Faculty members shared valuable feedback aimed at helping students enhance their clinical reasoning, digital literacy, and presentation skills.

The e-poster competition reaffirmed BUDC’s commitment to innovation, experiential learning, and student engagement in dentistry, reinforcing its reputation as one of Pakistan’s leading institutions for dental education.
