Teachers’ Day Reboot 2025 at Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry celebrates educators with grandeur and gratitude
KARACHI: Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry (College of Dentistry) celebrated Teachers’ Day Reboot 2025 on October 29, marking its third consecutive year of paying tribute to educators with a grand, heartfelt ceremony. The event set a new benchmark in appreciation, recognition, and celebration of teachers’ dedication and excellence.
The ceremony was graced by Honorable Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Minister for Local Government, Housing, and Town Planning, Sindh, as the Chief Guest, alongside Syed Agha Rafiullah, Member of the National Assembly, as Guest of Honor, and Syed Ali Farhan Razi, Vice Chairman of LCMD. Their presence added prestige and reinforced LCMD’s commitment to honoring its faculty.
Celebrating teaching excellence and dedication
The program began with opening remarks from Prof. Dr. Navid Rashid Qureshi, Principal of the College of Dentistry, who emphasized the invaluable contribution of teachers in shaping future generations of healthcare professionals. Hosted by Dr. Rizwan Hassan and Dr. Sabaa Shahid, the event featured emotional student tributes, heartfelt letters, and performances expressing gratitude to mentors.
Each academic year contributed performances, skits, and video presentations that highlighted the strong bond between teachers and students. Educators were honored with souvenirs, certificates, and shields as tokens of gratitude for their service and excellence.
Recognitions and academic milestones
The highlight of the ceremony was the conferral of the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Outstanding Teacher Gold Medal and Laptop Awards to Prof. Dr. Uzma Zareef, Prof. Dr. Naheed Najmi, and Prof. Dr. Tahera Ayub for their outstanding dedication and contributions to dental education.
The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), under Dr. Asma Shahid, also inaugurated the Multidimensional Evaluation Results, marking another milestone in institutional quality advancement and academic improvement.
A tribute of gratitude and excellence
In her vote of thanks, Prof. Dr. Tahera Ayub, Head of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Administrator at Qamar Dental Hospital, expressed heartfelt appreciation to dignitaries, faculty, and students for making the event a success.
Special recognition was given to the organizing team — Dr. Rizwan Hassan, Dr. Saim Siddiqui, Dr. Sabaa Shahid, Dr. Asma Shahid, Dr. Ayesha Khurram, Dr. Amna Afridi, Dr. Dua Ali, Mr. Moiz Majid, and Mr. Shahbaz Khan — for their creativity and flawless coordination, supported by Mr. Wahaj and Mr. Amin in marketing.
