Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khalidi named Chief Dental Surgeon at Civil Hospital Karachi

KARACHI: In a major appointment that strengthens leadership in Sindh’s public dental healthcare, Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Khalidi has been officially appointed as Chief Dental Surgeon (BS-20) at Dr. Ruth K.M. Pfau, Civil Hospital Karachi, effective immediately, as per the notification issued by the Government of Sindh Services, General Administration and Coordination Department.

Dr. Khalidi, a distinguished dentist and seasoned administrator, has been serving the dental community since 1993. Born in Shaheed Benazirabad (Nawabshah), he completed his BDS from Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (formerly LMC) and has dedicated decades to advancing public dental care in Sindh.

Extensive public service and leadership experience

Before this latest appointment, Dr. Khalidi served as Head of Department and Additional Chief Dental Surgeon at Sindh Government Services Hospital, Karachi (2019–2026). He also led the Dental Department at Police Hospital, Karachi, and contributed administratively as District Dental Focal Person for Thatta and Sujawal. His leadership roles have been marked by efforts to enhance dental services, implement clinical protocols, and mentor the next generation of dental professionals.

Recognition and humanitarian contributions

Dr. Khalidi’s professional excellence and humanitarian services were recognized early in his career, earning him nominations for “Who’s Who in Pakistan” in 1993 and 1994. His decades-long commitment to public service underscores a career devoted not only to clinical practice but also to administrative excellence and community health.

Official notification and immediate posting

The Government of Sindh notification confirms that Dr. Khalidi, previously Senior Dental Surgeon (BS-19) at Services Hospital, Karachi, has been transferred and posted to Civil Hospital Karachi to fill an existing vacancy.
