Jinnah Medical & Dental College conducts oral health awareness session at Noor Public School
KARACHI: Jinnah Medical & Dental College (JMDC), through its department of community dentistry, organized an impactful oral health awareness session at Noor Public School as part of its ongoing community outreach initiative. The session was led by Dr. Muhammad Mohsin Haider, head of the department of community dentistry, who emphasized the importance of preventive oral care and early dental education among schoolchildren.
The JMDC dental team, consisting of demonstrators and house officers, conducted comprehensive dental examinations for nearly 360 students from the pre-primary and primary sections, aged between 5 and 12 years. These classroom-based dental screenings were carried out in collaboration with school teachers to ensure a comfortable, child-friendly, and educational environment for the young learners.
During the session, the team also delivered interactive demonstrations of proper tooth-brushing techniques using dental models, helping children understand the correct brushing motions and the importance of maintaining daily oral hygiene. This hands-on learning experience encouraged students to adopt better brushing habits and preventive care practices, reinforcing JMDC’s commitment to improving oral health literacy within the community.
