Dubai dental week 2027 announced as AEEDC Dubai marks 30 years of global leadership

DUBAI: AEEDC Dubai has concluded its landmark 30th edition with the announcement of Dubai Dental Week 2027, a first-of-its-kind, city-wide strategic initiative designed to integrate dentistry, public health awareness, education, innovation, and dental tourism across Dubai. The announcement marks a major evolution of AEEDC Dubai’s legacy, reinforcing the emirate’s position as a global hub for oral health and dental excellence.

The announcement came as AEEDC Dubai reaffirmed its status as the world’s largest dental conference and exhibition, having attracted more than 80,000 visitors from 192 countries and generated over AED 22 billion in direct and indirect deals during its 30th edition.

A city-wide dental ecosystem initiative

Launched as a strategic initiative by AEEDC Dubai, Dubai Dental Week will be held annually, with its inaugural edition scheduled from January 16 to 22, 2027, across multiple locations throughout Dubai. The initiative is supported by Dubai Economy and Tourism (DET) and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

Designed as a comprehensive, city-wide concept, Dubai Dental Week brings together the entire dental ecosystem, including dental professionals, clinics, hospitals, academic institutions, industry leaders, policymakers, patients, families, and the wider public. The initiative blends scientific conferences, professional training, business exhibitions, public awareness campaigns, and community engagement activities under one coordinated platform.

Within Dubai Dental Week, AEEDC Dubai 2027 will serve as the flagship professional event, taking place from January 19 to 21, 2027, continuing its role as the world’s premier dental exhibition and scientific conference.

Affordable care, free consultations, and public awareness

A key public-facing component of Dubai Dental Week will be emirate-wide promotions, offering discounted dental treatments, free consultations, and special packages across participating clinics and hospitals. Services will range from routine dental care, such as cavity fillings and root canal treatments, to advanced cosmetic procedures, including veneers, teeth whitening, and smile makeovers.

According to Mohamed Al Mheiri, Director of the Health Tourism Department at the Dubai Health Authority, awareness activations will extend beyond clinics.

“In shopping malls, schools, government departments, and corporate offices—awareness activities will happen everywhere,” he said, emphasizing the initiative’s strong community outreach focus, particularly for children and young residents.

For residents without dental insurance coverage, Dubai Dental Week will offer a rare opportunity to access structured treatment plans at reduced costs, addressing a long-standing gap in healthcare coverage.

Strengthening education, innovation, and future talent

Beyond affordability and awareness, Dubai Dental Week is built around four strategic dimensions:

  • Economic impact,
  • Social awareness,
  • Scientific excellence, and
  • Careers and talent development.

The scientific excellence pillar will feature advanced education programs, including workshops, courses, conferences, and clinical training sessions showcasing the latest research, technologies, and treatment methodologies. This ensures continuous professional development for dental practitioners and aligns with global best practices.

The careers and talent development dimension will spotlight academic programs, universities, dental academies, and industry-led training pathways, highlighting diverse career opportunities across clinical practice, research, innovation, marketing, and dental technology.

Dubai’s growing dental and medical tourism strength

Dubai Dental Week builds on Dubai’s rapidly expanding dental and medical tourism sector. In 2023, the emirate welcomed 691,000 medical tourists, generating AED 1.03 billion in direct revenue and AED 2.3 billion indirectly through hospitality, transport, and leisure.

Notably, 29 percent of medical tourists sought dental services, making dentistry the top medical tourism specialty in Dubai. Advanced aesthetic procedures such as veneers, whitening, and smile makeovers remain key drivers of international demand.
