SHANGHAI, China, October 22, 2026: DenTech China 2026 opened in Shanghai on Thursday, bringing the international dental industry together for four days of technology showcases, professional exchange and business engagement as manufacturers and dental professionals examine developments reshaping clinical practice and dental equipment manufacturing.

The 29th International Exhibition on Dental Equipment, Technology and Products is being held from October 22 to 25 at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, occupying Halls 1, 2 and 4.

Pakistan is represented at the gathering through dental industry professionals and business representatives, including Syed Hashim A. Hasan, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Editor and Publisher of Dental News Pakistan, and a delegation from GlowPak International led by its Chief Executive Officer, Idrees Qadri.

GlowPak is the exclusive distributor in Pakistan of Ningbo Runyes Medical Instrument Co., Ltd., the Chinese dental equipment manufacturer whose international activities have attracted attention following the inauguration of a new manufacturing facility in Ningbo earlier this week.

The Pakistani participation comes as the exhibition provides a platform for international suppliers, distributors, clinicians, dental laboratories and industry stakeholders to assess emerging technologies, strengthen professional connections and explore the changing requirements of modern dentistry.

Shanghai brings the international dental industry together

First held in 1994, DenTech China has developed into an established international exhibition serving dental equipment manufacturers, suppliers, distributors and healthcare professionals.

Organised by Shanghai Informa Markets ShowStar Exhibition Company Limited, the event brings together the commercial and clinical dimensions of dentistry, combining equipment demonstrations and product displays with opportunities for professional education and technical exchange.

Its growing international reach is reflected in the performance of previous editions.

According to the organisers, DenTech China 2025 featured more than 900 exhibitors across over 60,000 square metres of exhibition space, with nearly 3,000 booths and more than 140,000 trade visits recorded over four days.

Overseas visitors accounted for approximately 21.84% of the visitor total, while the accompanying educational programme featured 181 conference sessions and more than 200 speakers.

These figures relate to the 2025 exhibition and illustrate the scale from which the 2026 edition is building.

The exhibition has also expanded significantly since its inaugural edition, which began with 70 exhibitors and approximately 3,000 square metres of display space. Its growth reflects the increasing international importance of dental manufacturing, technology development and cross-border equipment trade.

Beyond its commercial dimension, DenTech China provides an opportunity for dental professionals to examine technologies being developed for clinical practice, compare available equipment and engage with manufacturers responsible for their design and production.

Digital dentistry, imaging and advanced equipment in focus

The range of technologies represented at DenTech China illustrates how dental care continues to evolve beyond conventional equipment and manual treatment processes.

According to the organisers' official exhibition categories, the event covers CAD/CAM systems, digital imaging and diagnostic equipment, implant dentistry, orthodontics, endodontic technology, restorative materials, dental laboratory systems, 3D printing and infection-control equipment.

Dental chairs, treatment units, handpieces, sterilisation systems, dental instruments and consumables also remain significant components of the exhibition.

Together, these product categories reflect the industry's continuing transition towards more integrated clinical and laboratory workflows.

Digital impressions, computer-aided design, dental imaging and digitally assisted manufacturing are increasingly influencing how practitioners plan treatments and how laboratories produce restorations.

For dentists, these developments have practical implications for diagnostic workflows, treatment planning, communication with laboratories and the selection of equipment suited to their clinical requirements.

For dental laboratories, the combination of scanning, design software, milling and additive manufacturing is changing the technical skills and equipment needed for modern restorative production.

At the same time, the importance of conventional dental instruments, reliable sterilisation systems and equipment maintenance remains unchanged.

The industry's challenge is therefore not simply to introduce more sophisticated technology, but to ensure that new systems are clinically useful, affordable, properly supported and capable of integration into everyday practice.

DenTech China provides an international setting in which these competing priorities can be examined alongside the products being offered by manufacturers.

For Pakistan, such engagement has implications extending beyond individual equipment purchases.

As dental clinics, teaching institutions and laboratories consider adopting digital workflows, decisions about affordability, technical training, product reliability, maintenance and after-sales support become increasingly important.

Access to technology is one part of that transition. The availability of knowledgeable local distributors, trained technicians and dependable service infrastructure is another.

International industry exhibitions offer Pakistani suppliers opportunities to understand these developments directly and assess their relevance to the country's dental sector.

Dental News Pakistan CEO attends the exhibition

Syed Hashim A. Hasan, CEO, Chief Editor and Publisher of Dental News Pakistan, is also attending DenTech China 2026 in Shanghai.

His presence places Dental News Pakistan within an international gathering where dental manufacturers, technology developers, distributors and healthcare professionals are engaging with developments affecting the profession.

The exhibition provides an opportunity to observe emerging products and technologies, examine industry trends and bring an international perspective to issues of relevance to Pakistan's dental community.

For a professional readership that includes dentists, dental students, educators, researchers, laboratory specialists and industry representatives, international exhibitions offer insights into technologies and business developments that may eventually influence local clinical practice.

Dental News Pakistan's participation also follows its coverage of the Runyes Global Partners Summit and the inauguration of the company's new manufacturing facility in Ningbo.

Together, these events provide a wider view of the relationship between dental technology development, manufacturing capacity and the international distribution networks through which equipment reaches healthcare providers.

Why developments in Shanghai matter to Pakistan's dental sector

The significance of DenTech China extends beyond the exhibition halls.

For Pakistan's dental sector, international equipment exhibitions provide an opportunity to examine changes in technology, manufacturing and clinical practice that could influence future investment and professional training.

Digital dentistry, for example, requires more than the purchase of an intraoral scanner or a CAD/CAM system.

Effective implementation can depend on the compatibility of equipment and software, the availability of trained personnel, dependable technical support and the ability of dental clinics and laboratories to adapt their workflows.

Similarly, advances in imaging, endodontic equipment, implant systems and sterilisation technologies must be assessed against clinical requirements, safety considerations and long-term operating costs.

These questions are particularly relevant in markets where the affordability of sophisticated equipment and the availability of local maintenance services can influence purchasing decisions.

International exhibitions allow distributors and clinicians to compare different manufacturers' approaches rather than evaluating products in isolation.

They also provide manufacturers with opportunities to better understand the requirements of dental professionals in different countries.

For Pakistani companies with established international relationships, such engagement can support informed decisions about product selection, technical education and service development.

However, participation in an exhibition does not by itself establish new commercial agreements, product introductions or investment commitments. Any such developments would require separate confirmation.

From international innovation to everyday dental practice

As DenTech China 2026 continues through October 25, the exhibition highlights the increasingly interconnected nature of the global dental industry.

Developments in manufacturing, digital workflows, diagnostic equipment and laboratory technology are not confined to the countries in which those products are developed. Their wider significance emerges when they become accessible, reliable and useful in clinical settings across different markets.

For manufacturers, international exhibitions provide opportunities to demonstrate technological progress and strengthen relationships with overseas partners.

For clinicians and laboratories, they offer a closer look at equipment and systems that may influence future treatment and production methods.

For Pakistan, the participation of Syed Hashim A. Hasan of Dental News Pakistan and the GlowPak International delegation led by Idrees Qadri reflects the country's continued engagement with international dental technology and manufacturing networks.

The question extending beyond the Shanghai exhibition is how effectively new technologies, professional knowledge and international partnerships can translate into improvements in the availability, affordability and quality of dental care.

DenTech China 2026 provides another opportunity for that conversation to advance.
