GENEVA: The FDI World Dental Federation (FDI) has officially announced the return of its Regional Dental Congress to Africa, with the 2026 edition scheduled to take place in Mombasa, Kenya, from 21 to 23 October 2026.

Organised in collaboration with the Kenya Dental Association (KDA), the upcoming congress is expected to bring together dentists, oral health professionals, researchers, and dental teams from across Africa and beyond for a three-day high-level scientific and professional gathering.

According to FDI, the congress will serve as a key platform for knowledge exchange, clinical advancement, and regional collaboration in dentistry. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with international experts, explore modern approaches in dental care, and gain practical insights aimed at strengthening everyday clinical practice.

The scientific programme is designed to support continuing professional development (CPD), with accredited sessions covering contemporary topics in dentistry and oral health. The organisers emphasize that the event will not only focus on academic learning but also foster meaningful professional networking among dental communities from diverse countries and practice environments.

FDI leadership highlighted the importance of bringing the congress back to the African continent, noting that such initiatives strengthen global inclusion in oral health discussions and help address region-specific challenges through shared expertise and collaboration.
