Global Dental Events: Dentsply Sirona Implant Summit 2026 in Sweden and IADR General Session 2029 in Japan

Two of the dental profession’s most influential global gatherings are set to make major impacts on the future of implant dentistry and oral research, with events confirmed for Sweden in 2026 and Japan in 2029.

Dentsply Sirona Implant Solutions World Summit 2026

Dentsply Sirona has announced that its flagship Implant Solutions World Summit will take place from June 25 to June 27, 2026, in Gothenburg, Sweden — the birthplace of osseointegration. The three-day event will unite clinicians, researchers, and industry leaders for cutting-edge education, live demonstrations, and discussions on the future of implant dentistry.

Building on the momentum of previous editions in Athens and Miami, the Gothenburg summit will place special emphasis on digital workflows, surgical innovation, and prosthetic solutions.

“At the Implant Solutions World Summit, ideas, experience and inspiration converge. This event will once again offer a dynamic space to exchange ideas, discover clinical breakthroughs and connect with peers shaping the future of implant treatment,” said Rodrigo Canelhas, group vice-president, implants and prosthetic solutions at Dentsply Sirona.

IADR General Session returns to Japan in 2029

The International Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (IADR) has confirmed that its General Session and Asia Pacific Regional Meeting will be held June 27–30, 2029, in Yokohama, Japan. This marks the return of IADR’s flagship event to Japan after nearly three decades.

Expected to attract over 5,000 participants, including nearly 4,800 international attendees, the IADR General Session is widely recognized as the world’s largest dental, oral, and craniofacial research conference. Hosted at PACIFICO Yokohama, the event will showcase groundbreaking research, hands-on demonstrations, and new opportunities for global collaboration.

“I am delighted that Yokohama has been selected to host the IADR General Session. IADR is the world’s largest dental, oral and craniofacial research organization, and its Japanese division has long had the second-largest membership, after that of the United States,” said Professor Satoshi Imazato, IADR immediate past president.

Organizers note that the General Session will highlight Japan’s significant contributions to dental science, while strengthening global academic and professional partnerships.
