LAHORE: Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences (FJIDS), Lahore, successfully conducted a specialized hands-on orthodontic workshop on the Biomechanics of Loops, bringing together more than 20 orthodontic residents from leading training centers in Lahore and Faisalabad for advanced training in wire bending, loop design, and clinical orthodontic biomechanics.

The workshop, organized by the Department of Orthodontics at FJIDS, focused on the fabrication, activation, and clinical application of T Loops and Opus Loops—two widely used orthodontic loop systems that play a critical role in controlled tooth movement, space closure, anchorage management, and force delivery.
The training session provided participants with a blend of theoretical instruction and practical experience, allowing residents to strengthen their understanding of biomechanical principles while refining their wire-bending skills under expert supervision.
Strengthening clinical orthodontic skills
Loop mechanics remain a cornerstone of fixed appliance orthodontics despite the growing popularity of digital orthodontics and aligner-based treatments.
