Oral cancer study day focuses on reconstruction and rehabilitation at Fatima Memorial College of Dentistry
LAHORE: The department of oral and maxillofacial surgery at Fatima Memorial College of Dentistry organized the Oral Cancer Study Day on October 24th, 2025, at the Gen. Attique ur Rehman Auditorium, Fatima Memorial Hospital, Lahore. The academic event brought together professionals, postgraduate trainees, and faculty members from multiple disciplines to explore current concepts and innovations in the management of oral cancer.
The highlight of the event was an enlightening lecture on reconstruction and rehabilitation in oral cancer, delivered by Mr. Abdul Ahmed, consultant surgeon for London North West Healthcare University NHS Trust and Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust, and honorary senior clinical lecturer at Queen Mary University of London.
Drawing from his vast experience in microvascular surgery for head and neck reconstruction, Mr. Ahmed provided a detailed overview of surgical principles, reconstructive challenges, and contemporary rehabilitative strategies designed to improve post-operative quality of life for oral cancer patients.
