Hamdard University Dental Hospital shines at 6th LUMHS International Dental Conference
KARACHI: Hamdard University Dental Hospital marked a strong academic presence at the 6th International Dental Conference held recently at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, with students and faculty actively participating in multiple scientific and competitive sessions.
The institutional delegation took part in table clinic presentations, research poster presentations, quiz competitions, and poster exhibitions, reflecting a culture of academic discipline, scholarly enthusiasm, and professional engagement.
A major highlight of the conference was the outstanding performance of Hamdard University Dental Hospital students, who secured first prize in the table clinic competition. Their success demonstrated high standards of clinical competence, effective presentation skills, and innovative thinking in dental practice.
The Department of Operative Dentistry also earned recognition as its residents achieved third prize in the research poster presentation category, underscoring the quality of their research work and their ability to communicate scientific findings with clarity and confidence.

Faculty members played a key role in guiding and supervising students throughout the academic activities. Vice Principal Dr Saima Asim served as a table clinic judge and supervisor. Dr Shikoh Naz, Associate Professor in the Department of Community Dentistry, represented the institution as focal person and supervised both table clinic and student poster presentations.
Dr Mehwish Saquib, Head of the Department of Prosthodontics, supervised the quiz competition, while Dr Fariha Irfan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Operative Dentistry, oversaw the residents’ research poster presentations. Dr Saba, Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Pathology, also attended the conference and contributed to academic activities.
