KARACHI: In a disturbing daylight incident that has sent shockwaves across the medical community, students of Jinnah Medical and Dental College were robbed at gunpoint on their college bus in Karachi’s Bahadurabad area.
The robbery took place around 8:15 am, turning an ordinary commute into a moment of fear and vulnerability.
How the robbery unfolded
According to police and victim accounts, three armed robbers arrived on a motorcycle.
→ Two of them boarded the bus
→ One remained on the bike, ready for a quick escape
Within moments, the suspects began looting students—both male and female—at gunpoint.
They managed to snatch:
• Mobile phones (from at least four students)
• Bags and personal belongings
• Gold jewellery
“We created noise—and they ran”
One of the victim students, while speaking to a news channel, described how the situation escalated—and how it ended:
→ As students raised alarm and created noise, robbers feared people nearby might begin noticing the robbery.
This forced the robbers to panic and flee, escaping on the same motorcycle before the situation could worsen.
What the victim revealed
The same student also shared an important detail about the situation inside the bus:
→ The bus door was open, which is a routine during such pickups.
The incident occurred within the limits of the New Town Police Station, where police have collected initial evidence and launched an investigation.
