Interactive lecture on forensic odontology held at Margalla College of Dentistry
RAWALPINDI: An interactive lecture on forensic odontology was conducted recently at Margalla College of Dentistry, focusing on raising awareness and enhancing understanding of the practical applications of forensic dentistry in Pakistan.
The session was led by Dr. Amber Khan, a renowned forensic odontologist, who shared valuable insights into how dental forensics contributes to crime investigations, human identification, and medico-legal documentation. She emphasized the growing importance of integrating forensic dentistry into Pakistan’s healthcare and justice systems to support law enforcement and public safety.
Faculty members, house officers, and final-year BDS students actively participated in the session, engaging in discussions and interactive Q&A segments that highlighted real-world forensic case examples and emerging trends in the field.
The lecture concluded with a shield and souvenirs presentation to Dr. Amber Khan by Prof. Dr. Shakir Khan, Senior Vice Principal of Margalla College of Dentistry. Dr. Saba Farooq, Head of the Department of Medical Education, arranged and coordinated the successful session.
