KARACHI: The Jinnah Medical & Dental College (JMDC) hosted a grand alumni reunion and dinner in Karachi, bringing together former MBBS, BDS, and Pharm D graduates for an evening centered on professional reconnecting, nostalgia, institutional pride, and celebration of lifelong academic bonds.

The JMDC Alumni Reunion 2026 gathered graduates from different academic batches alongside senior faculty members, institutional leadership, and distinguished former teachers in what participants described as one of the college’s most vibrant alumni engagement events in recent years.

The event was organized as part of JMDC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen alumni relations, encourage professional networking, and reinforce connections between current institutional leadership and graduates serving across Pakistan’s healthcare sector and abroad.

Senior leadership of the Sohail Trust welcomed alumni back to their alma mater, with Chairman Dr.Syed Tariq Sohail, and members of his family personally receiving attendees during the reunion ceremony.

The evening featured interactive meet-and-greet sessions, informal networking opportunities, musical performances, and dinner celebrations, allowing graduates to reconnect with former classmates, mentors, and faculty members while revisiting memories from their academic years at Jinnah Medical & Dental College.

Healthcare education experts increasingly view alumni engagement initiatives as an important component of institutional development, professional collaboration, and medical education networking, particularly in rapidly evolving healthcare systems where interdisciplinary partnerships and mentorship opportunities continue to grow in importance.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Junaid Lakhani, Principal of the Dental College, Prof. Atif Mehmood, Principal of the Medical College, and Dr. Fadieleh Sohail, Managing Director of Medicare Hospital, thanked alumni for maintaining long-term connections with the institution and participating enthusiastically in the reunion.

Speakers highlighted the importance of alumni contributions in strengthening academic culture, mentoring future healthcare professionals, and supporting collaborative growth within Pakistan’s medical, dental, and pharmaceutical education sectors.

The reunion was further enriched by the participation of distinguished former faculty members, including Prof. Dr. Mohsin Girach and Prof. Dr. Wahab, whose presence added a strong sense of continuity and academic legacy to the occasion.

Participants described the event as an opportunity not only to celebrate friendships and memories but also to reflect on evolving healthcare challenges, professional achievements, and the shared educational experiences that shaped their careers in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and healthcare leadership.

Medical education analysts note that alumni reunions at healthcare institutions increasingly serve broader professional purposes beyond social interaction, including career networking, mentorship development, institutional fundraising, research collaboration, and strengthening ties between academia and clinical practice.

The evening concluded with dinner, live musical entertainment, and group interactions that organizers said reflected JMDC’s commitment to preserving alumni relationships and fostering a sense of professional community among graduates working across different healthcare disciplines.

As Pakistan’s healthcare education sector continues to expand, institutions are placing greater emphasis on alumni engagement programs to strengthen institutional identity, encourage collaboration, and build professional networks capable of supporting future healthcare innovation and leadership.
