ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Pakistan’s dental fraternity is celebrating a proud moment of unprecedented achievement as Dr. Irfan Qureshi becomes the first-ever Pakistani to earn the title of Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry (ABOI/ID) — the highest global qualification in the field of dental implantology.

In the wake of this historic accomplishment, the Pakistan Dental Association (PDA) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Qureshi through powerful statements from both the PDA Central Council and PDA Karachi Chapter, lauding his dedication, excellence, and the international recognition he has brought to Pakistan.

“This is a landmark moment for Pakistan’s dental community,” said the President of the PDA Central Council. “Dr. Irfan Qureshi’s exceptional dedication and pursuit of excellence have brought global recognition to our country. PDA is incredibly proud of him, and we will always celebrate such inspiring accomplishments.”

Dr. Qureshi now joins an exclusive global circle of oral implantologists:

India: 3 Diplomates

Middle East: 7 (including 6 from Saudi Arabia)

Pakistan: 1 — Dr. Irfan Qureshi

Holding a rare dual distinction, Dr. Qureshi is already a Diplomate in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh (UK) — now adding the ABOI/ID Diplomate (USA) title to his name, making him one of the few professionals globally to be credentialed at the highest level in both the UK and the US.

In its message, PDA Karachi Chapter called it a “proud achievement for Karachi and all of Pakistan.”

“Your dedication, hard work, and commitment to advancing dental implantology inspire us all. You have set a new benchmark for excellence in our profession,” the Karachi Chapter added.

The achievement will be formally honored on November 14, 2025, at the AAID Annual Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, during a ceremony for new Diplomates of the board.

Reflecting on his journey, Dr. Qureshi said:

“Alhamdulillah, I have now earned the highest global credentials in implant dentistry. This journey has been long and challenging, but it is worth every step knowing that it brings pride to my profession.”

This moment not only celebrates personal excellence but also reinforces Pakistan’s growing footprint in global healthcare leadership, particularly in advanced dental sciences.

From Karachi and Pakistan to the world stage, Dr. Irfan Qureshi’s journey is an inspiration for a new generation of Pakistani healthcare professionals. The Pakistan Dental Association salutes his remarkable achievement — one that will echo in the corridors of dental education and implantology for years to come.
