LAHORE: The de’Montmorency College of Dentistry (DCD), Lahore, marked a rare and historic milestone by holding its Convocation Ceremony 2026, celebrating graduates from 16 academic batches spanning the years 2010 to 2024.
The large-scale academic gathering brought together multiple graduating cohorts under one ceremony, recognizing their academic achievements, professional growth, and contribution to Pakistan’s dental healthcare system.
Historic convocation honoring 16 graduating batches

The convocation formally conferred Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degrees upon graduates from 2010 to 2024, making it one of the most significant ceremonies in the institution’s recent history.
Principal Prof. Dr. Nabeela Riaz welcomed graduates, their families, faculty members, and distinguished guests, congratulating them on their achievements and highlighting the importance of the occasion.
She announced that future convocations will now be held every two years, marking a shift toward more regular academic recognition cycles. She also emphasized the strong academic performance of DCD students in University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore examinations and stressed the need for a dedicated campus for the nearly century-old institution.
Chief Guest and distinguished academic leadership
The ceremony was graced by Major General Prof. Dr. Nadeem Ahmed Rana, a distinguished alumnus of the college, who attended as Chief Guest.
Expressing his sentiments, he described his participation as “a matter of immense pride as an alumnus of the institution,” highlighting the emotional and professional significance of returning to his alma mater.
Other prominent guests included Prof. Dr. Nadia Naseem, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, and Prof. Dr. Javed Akram, former Provincial Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education, Punjab. Prof. Dr. Zahra Khanum and Prof. Dr. Asad Aslam also attended as Guests of Honour.
During the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nadia Naseem administered the professional oath to the graduating dentists, formally inducting them into the dental profession.
Prof. Dr. Javed Akram addressed the graduates and urged them to serve humanity with dedication, integrity, and compassion, emphasizing the ethical responsibility of healthcare professionals.

The convocation was organized under the leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. Nabeela Riaz, with extensive support from the Steering Committee and Convocation Organizing Committee.
Key members included Prof. Dr. Zainab Rizvi, Associate Professor Dr. Shahzad, Associate Professor Dr. Sadia Shakeel, Assistant Professor Dr. Sadia Awais, Dr. Ayesha Khan, and Dr. Saba Mujahid.
