Free dental camp by Bolan Dental College brings quality oral care to differently-abled children in Quetta
QUETTA: In a compassionate move to bridge the gap in oral healthcare access, Bolan Dental College organized a free dental camp for differently-abled children at the Institute of Special Children in Quetta. This impactful initiative was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Nasrullah Mengal, Principal of Bolan Dental College, in collaboration with Muskan Zindagi and the Khushali Welfare Foundation.
The camp, led by the Department of Operative Dentistry, brought together a team of skilled dental surgeons, house officers, and final-year students committed to delivering free dental checkups, oral hygiene education, and preventive care to children with special needs.
The dental team conducted comprehensive oral examinations, provided demonstrations on proper brushing techniques, and engaged both children and their caregivers in interactive oral hygiene education sessions. Importantly, the team learned and used basic sign language to communicate effectively, making the children feel comfortable and safe during the procedures.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to inclusive healthcare and the community-focused mission of Bolan Dental College,” said Principal Prof. Dr. Nasrullah Mengal.
The event was made possible due to the outstanding organizational support from Khushali Welfare Foundation and Muskan Zindagi, whose planning and logistical facilitation ensured the smooth operation of the camp and maximized its outreach.
The success of this initiative reinforces the importance of collaborative community healthcare efforts in regions like Balochistan, where access to specialized care is often limited. Bolan Dental College has reaffirmed its resolve to continue participating in such outreach activities that promote oral health equity and preventive education, especially for marginalized groups.
