Redefining healthcare with artificial intelligence at LCMD: skills enrichment workshop
KARACHI: The Postgraduate Committee at Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry (LCMD) successfully hosted an enriching Skills Enrichment Workshop titled "Redefining Healthcare with Artificial Intelligence" recently. This event, in collaboration with Bosch Pharmaceuticals, was designed to offer postgraduate participants a unique opportunity to explore the revolutionary role of artificial intelligence in healthcare. The hands-on session was geared towards enhancing clinical decision-making, diagnostic precision, and operational efficiency through practical exposure to AI-driven healthcare tools.
The workshop was facilitated by Dr. M. Irfan, who led the engaging and insightful training, offering participants a deep dive into the real-world applications of AI within modern clinical practice. By focusing on artificial intelligence's role in improving patient-centered care, the session equipped participants with valuable skills to integrate these innovations into their everyday medical practice.
The event commenced with opening remarks from Dr. Shirjeel Hussain, Deputy Director of Medical Services at DSH. Dr. Hussain emphasized the pivotal role AI plays in advancing patient care and the future of healthcare delivery. His speech set the tone for an inspiring and thought-provoking session that would explore the intersection of cutting-edge technology and traditional medical practices.
Moderated by Dr. Rizwan Hassan, Secretary of the Postgraduate Committee, the workshop saw active engagement from all participants, who were encouraged to discuss and explore AI tools in healthcare. The event was concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Co-Chairperson PGME, Prof. Dr. Tahera Ayub. Prof. Ayub acknowledged the efforts of Bosch Pharmaceuticals and the organizing team, as well as the enthusiasm of the participants, for making the workshop impactful.
