Hands-on workshop on simplified class II composite techniques draws full attendance at Aga Khan University

KARACHI: A highly anticipated pre-conference hands-on workshop on simplified techniques for class II composites was successfully conducted at Aga Khan University under the platform of the Pakistan Association of Dental Students (PADS). Facilitated by renowned dental professionals Dr. Jazib Memon and Dr. Marhaba Sheikh, the event received an exceptional response with registrations closing within just 18 hours of the announcement, making it completely houseful.

The workshop began with an inspiring career counseling talk by Dr. Jazib Memon, who guided participants on pathways for growth in dentistry. This was followed by a comprehensive lecture by Dr. Marhaba Sheikh, who shared practical tips and tricks in composite dentistry.

To ensure maximum learning, the facilitators conducted four live demonstrations, each immediately followed by a hands-on session for participants. The topics included:

  • Teflon floss technique
  • Essential lines using pizza technique (by Style Italiano)
  • Deep marginal elevation simplified technique (by Style Italiano)
  • Centripetal technique using different matrices

In addition, selected clinical videos from Style Italiano were presented, further enriching the educational experience.

The success of the workshop was also credited to the dedicated efforts of Dr. Maryam Israr, Dr. Rooja Yosuf, Dr. Laiba, and the entire PADS organizing team. Their contributions ensured seamless coordination and participant engagement throughout the event.

The workshop reflected the enthusiasm and high potential of the next generation of dental professionals, making it a memorable and impactful pre-conference event. By combining practical training with expert-led guidance, it reinforced the importance of continuous learning and hands-on exposure in modern dental education.
