PDA pre-conference operative dentistry workshop delivers advanced clinical learning in Lahore
LAHORE: On 25 December 2025, Lahore witnessed one of the most engaging and clinically focused dental learning events of the year, as a Pre-Conference Workshop under the Pakistan Dental Association was successfully conducted at Macro to Micro. The workshop brought together dentists eager for hands-on mastery, facilitated by Dr. Jazib Memon and Dr. Marhaba Sheikh, two names well-recognized for their clinical expertise and teaching acumen.
A demonstration-driven learning experience
Unlike conventional lecture-heavy formats, this workshop was entirely demonstration-based, offering participants the opportunity to observe advanced operative dentistry techniques and immediately apply them under expert supervision. This practical approach resonated strongly with clinicians seeking real-world, chairside relevance rather than purely theoretical discussions.
The clinical demonstrations covered a carefully curated range of modern operative techniques, including:
• DME Simplified Technique by Styloitaliano
• Teflon Floss Technique
• Double Matrix Technique
• Essential Lines (Pizza Technique)
• Centripetal Technique
• Micro-abrasion for intrinsic stain removal on live patients
Each technique was demonstrated step by step, ensuring clarity, precision, and immediate clinical applicability.
Live patients, real outcomes
A standout feature of the workshop was the inclusion of live patient demonstrations, particularly for micro-abrasion procedures addressing intrinsic stains. This not only enhanced learning credibility but also allowed participants to appreciate clinical nuances, decision-making, and outcome management in real time.
Such exposure is increasingly valued in dental continuing education, where practitioners expect training that translates directly into improved patient care.
Overwhelming response reflects demand for quality education
The response from the dental community was emphatic. All 22 seats were filled within just 72 hours of the workshop announcement, underscoring the growing demand for high-quality, skill-based dental education in Pakistan. The rapid sell-out also reflects the trust clinicians place in PDA-endorsed academic initiatives and well-structured pre-conference programs.
Behind-the-scenes excellence
The smooth execution of the workshop was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Dr. Imran Nasir, Dr. Shahrukh Lodhi, and Dr. Sana Rasheed, whose organizational oversight ensured a seamless, professionally managed learning environment. Their contribution played a key role in delivering an experience that met both academic and logistical expectations.
Raising the bar for dental workshops in Pakistan
This PDA Pre-Conference Workshop sets a strong precedent for future dental education initiatives, emphasizing hands-on training, global techniques, and immediate clinical relevance. As Pakistan’s dental community continues to evolve, such programs are instrumental in bridging the gap between international best practices and local clinical application.
