ISLAMABAD: Dental academic, researcher and oral medicine specialist Prof Dr Javed Qazi has joined the Rawal Institute of Health Sciences (RIHS), Islamabad, as Professor of Oral Medicine and Oral Diagnostic Sciences.
At RIHS, Prof Qazi is also expected to supervise and lead the institute's planned MSc programme in Oral Medicine and Oral Diagnostic Sciences, marking a significant step towards strengthening postgraduate dental education and specialised training opportunities in Pakistan.
Prof Qazi joins RIHS after an extensive academic and administrative career that included senior leadership roles at Peshawar Dental College (PDC) and Khyber College of Dentistry (KCD), Peshawar.
Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in undergraduate and postgraduate dental education, teaching and mentoring students in oral medicine, oral diagnosis and radiology, while also overseeing postgraduate programmes and research activities. His experience spans academic administration, curriculum development, thesis supervision and the promotion of evidence-based dental education.
According to professional details shared on his LinkedIn profile, Prof Qazi has also served as the postgraduate dental sciences in-charge at Peshawar Dental College and has contributed to research supervision and publication activities in indexed scientific journals. He additionally holds international professional affiliations and has been involved in mentoring dentists pursuing advanced qualifications and continuing dental education programmes.
Prof Qazi's appointment is expected to further strengthen RIHS's academic and research environment, particularly in the fields of oral medicine, oral diagnostics and postgraduate dental sciences.
