MACAO: Digital dentistry's growing shift toward artificial intelligence, connected clinical workflows and chairside manufacturing will take centre stage in Macao next year as Digital Dental Show Macao 2027 (DDS Macao) prepares to bring dental technology companies, clinicians, laboratories, distributors and industry decision-makers together on April 16–17, 2027.
The two-day international B2B exhibition, conference and business-matching event will be held at The Venetian Macao's Cotai Expo, Hall D, with organisers positioning the first Macao edition as a gateway connecting the global dental industry with Greater China and the wider Asia-Pacific market.
The dates, venue and hall are confirmed, although organisers say the detailed conference programme remains a working schedule and could still change before the event.
The supplied event information identifies this as the first DDS edition in Macao, following the inaugural Digital Dental Show in Berlin in 2024. That earlier edition attracted more than 1,000 participants and 38 exhibitors and partners, according to the organisers. Importantly, companies associated with Berlin 2024 should not yet be interpreted as confirmed exhibitors for Macao 2027.
Why Macao, and why now?
DDS Macao is being developed around more than a conventional exhibition floor.
The organisers describe Macao as the host city but Greater China and Asia-Pacific as the target market, aiming to bring manufacturers into contact with distributors, laboratories, clinic groups and professional buyers looking for new technologies, products and market partnerships.
The location gives the event access to one of Asia's busiest international visitor and convention markets. Macao recorded 40,069,360 visitor arrivals in 2025, up 14.7% from the previous year, according to the Macao Statistics and Census Service.
The venue itself is also substantial. Sands Resorts Macao says Cotai Expo at The Venetian provides approximately 71,000 square metres of exhibition space and capacity for thousands of exhibition booths.
DDS Macao itself, however, is being designed on a deliberately more focused scale: organisers are planning a specialist exhibition floor of up to 100 booths across about 2,500 square metres, supported by meeting areas, a main stage and networking space.
AI, scanners, CBCT, CAD/CAM and 3D printing to drive the programme
The central theme is the digital dental workflow rather than any single device.
Four major technology areas currently define the DDS programme:
AI and digital diagnostics, CBCT and 3D imaging, intraoral scanning, and 3D printing, CAD/CAM and milling.
The exhibition scope goes further, covering digital orthodontics, clear aligners, dental robotics, implantology, dental laboratory technology, cloud dentistry, practice-management platforms, clinic automation, teledentistry, infection control and dental education.
For clinicians and practice owners, that makes DDS Macao relevant not only to those considering a scanner or printer, but also to practices examining how imaging, diagnosis, restorative design, production and administration could increasingly work as one connected digital ecosystem.
Three zones will combine education, technology and business
The current format divides DDS Macao into three main areas.
The International Main Stage is intended for global keynotes, industry panels, product launches and market discussions.
A separate Clinical & Technology Forum is expected to cover digital prosthodontics, implantology, artificial intelligence diagnostics, CAD/CAM and practical sessions.
The third component — Exhibition & Business Matching — will focus on technology demonstrations, buyer meetings, distributor introductions and networking.
That final element may prove particularly significant for manufacturers and distributors. DDS says its matching desk will seek to arrange selected buyer, distributor, clinic and laboratory meetings before participants arrive at the exhibition, rather than depending entirely on chance encounters on the show floor.
What the provisional programme currently shows
According to the working programme, Friday, April 16 is expected to include the opening ceremony, a global keynote, an industry leadership panel, business matching, an AI & Digital Diagnostics Forum, digital implantology and 3D imaging sessions, and product demonstrations.
On Saturday, April 17, proposed sessions include digital prosthodontics, digital orthodontics and AI-supported aligners, digital dental laboratories and manufacturing, distributor and market-expansion discussions, and the future dental clinic workflow.
Organisers stress that these sessions are still subject to revision, although the April 16–17 dates and The Venetian Macao venue are fixed.
Registration: what dental professionals can do now
There is an important distinction between registering interest and completing visitor registration.
As of September 23, 2026, general trade-visitor badge registration has not yet opened. Dental professionals and industry representatives can, however, submit their interest through the official DDS website. Those who do so are expected to receive the programme, exhibitor directory and badge-registration link once these become available.
DDS Macao is being organised as a trade-only event for dental professionals and industry participants, rather than an exhibition for the general public.
This makes early interest registration useful for dentists, dental laboratory owners, distributors, importers and clinic groups who want to receive the registration notice rather than checking repeatedly as the show approaches.
Pakistani dentists, importers, distributors or laboratory operators interested in attending should use the general visitor-interest route or contact the organisers directly to clarify whether their business profile may qualify for any buyer or commercial-matching programme.
The timeline professionals and companies should watch
For companies considering exhibiting, September through November 2026 is currently the critical floor-allocation period.
The organiser's roadmap then moves into speaker confirmation and buyer-programme development during December 2026 and January 2027.
The broader visitor campaign and exhibitor directory are expected to gain momentum during February and March 2027, immediately before the event.
For exhibitors, physical move-in is scheduled for April 14–15, followed by the exhibition on April 16–17 and move-out on April 18.
Those timelines mean companies wanting prominent exhibition positions have considerably less time to make a decision than clinicians who simply intend to visit.
What this means for Pakistan's dental community
For Pakistani dentists and dental businesses, the relevance of DDS Macao extends beyond attending another international conference.
Many technologies increasingly entering modern practices — including intraoral scanners, CBCT systems, dental 3D printers, milling units, artificial-intelligence imaging platforms and digital laboratory systems — are part of an increasingly Asia-centred manufacturing and distribution ecosystem.
An event structured specifically around Greater China, Asia-Pacific distributors and cross-border commercial matching could therefore be relevant to Pakistani importers and distributors looking for new product lines, as well as clinic owners and laboratory professionals assessing the next generation of digital systems.
The event may also provide clinicians with a useful opportunity to see how technologies that are often purchased separately — imaging, scanning, treatment planning, CAD/CAM and additive manufacturing — are increasingly being presented as components of a single digital patient workflow.
Travel planning should not be left until the last minute
The organisers advise international visitors to check immigration requirements based on their passport and travel route, particularly where travel involves transit through Hong Kong or Mainland China.
Those requirements can change, and DDS says prospective participants can ask what supporting documentation the organisers are able to provide when making their arrangements.
With visitor registration still to open, the most practical step for dental professionals interested in DDS Macao 2027 is therefore to register their interest now, monitor the programme and exhibitor announcements, and wait for the official badge-registration window rather than relying on unconfirmed third-party ticket or discount offers.
For exhibitors, the timetable is more immediate: space allocation is already underway.
