Pakistan introduces AI-powered dental telehealth platform Meri Muskan
KARACHI: A significant milestone in Pakistan’s healthcare technology landscape is achieved with the launch of Meri Muskan — the country’s first AI-enabled dental telehealth platform. Developed by Medentec, a health tech startup incubated at the National Incubation Center (NIC) Karachi, the platform aims to revolutionize oral health access for millions.
Accessible online at merimuskan.medentec.com, the platform integrates artificial intelligence, remote consultation, and user-centric design to provide early dental issue detection and real-time access to qualified dentists across Pakistan.
Bridging gaps in oral healthcare
Meri Muskan uses a locally trained AI diagnostic system, customized for Pakistan’s population and dental disease patterns. Users can upload images and symptoms to receive a preliminary assessment, followed by the option to consult with licensed dental professionals through secure teleconsultation.
Features include:
- Smart AI-powered dental symptom checker
- Seamless video consultation with dentists and specialists
- Digital prescriptions and health records
- Pharmacy delivery service (currently available in Karachi only)
- Nationwide accessibility, local relevance
While the platform is available across Pakistan, services like medication delivery and in-person referrals are being piloted in Karachi with plans to expand nationally. The innovation addresses barriers such as long wait times, limited dental infrastructure in rural areas, and rising treatment costs.
The platform marks a critical advancement in Pakistan’s digital health ecosystem, supporting public health goals through scalable, AI-powered infrastructure.
