Oral cancer and smoking seminar to underscore early detection and patient education by dentists
KARACHI: To raise awareness about the rising threat of oral cancer, Fatima Jinnah Dental College is organizing a high-impact seminar titled "Oral Cancer and Smoking" on 23rd May 2025, as part of its Oral Cancer Awareness Week.
The event will feature Prof. Dr. Navid Rashid Qureshi, a prominent dental surgeon and academician, as the keynote speaker. He currently serves as the Principal of the College of Dentistry at Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry and holds the position of President, Pakistan Dental Association, Karachi Chapter.
The talk, scheduled from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the 3rd Floor, Final Year Lecture Hall, Fatima Jinnah Dental Hospital, will explore “The crucial role of General Dental Practitioners in Early Detection, Patient Education and Management”—a timely and essential topic considering the increasing link between smoking habits and oral cancer rates in Pakistan.
