ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) has announced significant updates for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025, including a raised eligibility threshold and stricter location-based testing rules, marking a major policy shift in medical entrance exams across Pakistan.
According to an official notification issued by PMDC Registrar Dr. Shaista, the minimum academic requirement for MDCAT 2025 has been increased from 60% to 65% in F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or equivalent qualifications. This decision applies to admissions for the MBBS and BDS session 2025–2026.
The notification further states that candidates may only appear for the MDCAT in the province or region of their domicile, a move aimed at improving transparency and reducing administrative inconsistencies in exam placement.
For overseas Pakistani candidates, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has been designated as the sole international test center for MDCAT 2025.
The updated MDCAT syllabus has also been made available on the official PMDC website for student reference and preparation.
