DDC community dentistry department inspires students with career awareness, oral health session
KARACHI: The department of community dentistry, Dow Dental College, recently organized a career awareness and oral health promotion session at the Government Boys Secondary School, Kotwal Building Campus. The event was arranged following a request by the school administration to the in charge department, Dr. Muhammad Taqi.
Led by Dr. Rida Batool (lecturer) and accompanied by Dr. Muhammad Gohar (lecturer), the session aimed to inspire students by introducing them to dentistry as a career and highlighting its vital role in society. Through interactive discussions, students learned about the educational journey to becoming a dentist, the importance of oral health professionals, and the wide scope of opportunities in public health, clinical practice, research, and academia.

An oral health education segment formed a key part of the session, raising awareness about dental caries, gum diseases, and preventive dental care. Students were guided on the correct brushing technique, the benefits of flossing, and the importance of regular dental check-ups to maintain lifelong oral health.
