LCMD canvas painting competition 2025 brings art and dental education together
KARACHI: The Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry's (LCMD) canvas painting competition 2025 brought together creativity, learning, and teamwork as third-year BDS students transformed dental concepts into captivating visual art. Held at LCMD (activity conducted at KKF Dental OPD Unit 2), the event focused on encouraging students to think beyond textbooks and interpret dental themes through artistic expression.
The competition offered an interactive learning platform where students explored the intersection of art and dentistry, using painting to communicate clinical ideas, oral health concepts, and patient-care themes. Their canvases reflected individual creativity, group collaboration, and a clear understanding of dental science.
Prof. Dr. Navid Rashid Qureshi, principal (COD) LCMD, attended as the chief guest and commended students for the quality of their work, discipline, and thoughtful interpretations of the theme. He praised the faculty for promoting meaningful educational activities that strengthen student engagement.
The judging panel, including Dr. Rizwan, Dr. Munazza, and Dr. Sadaf, provided expert evaluation and fair assessment, ensuring a credible and transparent selection process.
The activity was organized under the supervision and academic leadership of clinical incharge Dr. Samir Azeem Qadri, supported by administrator Rao Muhammad Arsalan, assistant administrator/registrar Dr. Mohsin, and Dr. Fahad. Their coordinated efforts ensured smooth planning, execution, and student facilitation. Additional support came from departmental leads Dr. Abid, Dr. Samreen, Dr. Hijab, and Dr. Araib.
All participating groups, along with their supervisors, Dr. Mohsin, Dr. Fahad, Dr. Ishma, Dr. Danial, Dr. Usman, Dr. Tooba, Dr. Yamna, and Dr. Ammatuz, received certificates of appreciation. Winner and runner-up teams were specially acknowledged for their standout creativity and conceptual clarity.
The event concluded on a positive note, with a post-activity lunch hosted for students. The competition reinforced LCMD’s commitment to holistic learning, integrating creativity into dental education and promoting a collaborative academic environment.
