Clinical trial registration webinar delivers hands-on research training to dental professionals nationwide
KARACHI: The Department of Prosthodontics at Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM), Karachi, in collaboration with the Pakistan Association of Dental Students (PADS), organized a nationwide webinar on clinical trial registration that brought together dentists, undergraduate students, postgraduate trainees, and academic faculty from across Pakistan.
Held on May 26, 2025, the session titled “Clinical Trial Registration Workshop” focused on the critical importance of clinical trial registration in dental research and offered practical, step-by-step guidance on using ClinicalTrials.gov, a global trial registry platform.
Expert-led guidance enhances research capabilities
The workshop was led by seasoned academic and researcher Prof. Dr. Naseer Ahmed (BDS, FCPS, PhD) and prosthodontics resident Dr. Huda Adil (BDS, FCPS). Together, they delivered a powerful combination of expert lecture and live demonstration, demystifying the trial registration process for early-career and practicing dental professionals alike.
Attendees were introduced to key research principles including:
- The ethical and legal necessity of registering clinical trials
- Step-by-step navigation of the ClinicalTrials.gov platform
- Understanding the global standards of transparent, publishable research
This initiative reflects AIDM’s continued commitment to promoting evidence-based dentistry, research transparency, and academic integrity in Pakistan’s dental education ecosystem.

In line with its vision of inclusive professional development, the webinar was offered free of charge, with e-certificates issued to all registered participants, adding credibility and documentation to the learning experience.
