KARACHI: Young dentists interested in starting their own practices will have an opportunity to learn the business side of clinic ownership at a one-day AI-powered entrepreneurship bootcamp being organised by the AI Facilitation Cell of Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry (LCMD) on August 24, 2026.
Titled “From Dentist to Clinic Owner: An AI-Powered Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Young Dentists,” the workshop is designed to help participants turn a clinical practice idea into a practical business plan through hands-on exercises in planning, budgeting, clinic design, financial analysis and AI-assisted decision-making.
The workshop is scheduled for Monday, August 24, from 10:30am to 1pm at the Mini Auditorium, 3rd Floor, LCMD. Registration is free, but the slots are limited.
From dentist to clinic owner
For a young dentist, opening a private practice involves decisions that go well beyond clinical care.
Location, equipment, renovation, staffing, utilities, marketing, patient flow and recurring expenses can determine whether a new clinic becomes financially sustainable.

Dental and business expertise behind the session
The workshop is being held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Navid Rashid Qureshi, Principal, College of Dentistry.
Dr. Rizwan Hassan, BDS, MBA (Hospital and Health Care Management), Lead AI Facilitation Cell and Assistant Manager, Dental Outreach Department, is the lead for the session.
The facilitators are Dr. Tauseef Ahmed, Associate Professor of Oral Pathology and a dental practice owner, and Dr. Abid Khursheed, Head of the Department of Periodontology and owner of The Dental Suite.
Dr. Abdul Kareem, FCPS II Trainee OMFS at Liaquat College of Medicine & Dentistry, will serve as moderator.
The team brings together dental education, clinical practice, healthcare management and AI-related experience, matching the workshop's focus on the transition from clinician to practice owner.
